Baby Shower

My sister-in-law designed this too cute to be true baby shower invite. I LOVE IT!

I loved every minute and every detail of the shower. Check out the drinks served in mason jars! Circus theme all.the.way.

Caramel apple favors!

Homemade chocolate popcorn, cupcakes, animal cookies, nutter butters, licorice, caramels, oreos...take home bags...irresistable! There was also baby weenies, meatballs, veggies...all served with baby silverware forks :)

Gemma was at her own shower!

Her shower was scheduled for the 15th of October, but she came the 14th so the shower was the following Saturday instead :0)

Isn't She Lovely?

On my way to find out the baby's gender in June, I decided to play the radio game. If the song was about a girl, it was going to be a girl, if it was about a boy, it was going to be a boy. The first 5 songs I heard were about girls. The first one was "Isn't She Lovely?" which was written about a newborn daughter the year I was born. I knew we were having a girl :)

Around midnight on Friday the 14th, I woke up with contractions. I woke Mike up around 1:30 and we started getting ready to go to the hospital. We got to the hospital around 3:45 am and made great progress, got the epidural around 7 and the baby came at 10:37 am. She came in 3 contractions of pushing!

Introducing Gemma Kathleen Oaks! Our precious gem was 19 inches long, weighing 5 pounds 13 ounces, and healthy! She's absolutely beautiful.

Dallin is such a great big brother.

He's always wanting to be near her and telling us how beautiful she is :)

Oquirrh Lake at Daybreak

We have a small beautiful lake just down the street from our apartments. This past week we took a walk all the way around it.

There are a couple of docks that have lots of fish swimming around that you can see well as well as ducks and geese. Dallin was loving it!

Three Fish and Two Turtles

Mike, Dallin, and I went fishing the Friday before we went back to Utah. Dallin is basically a pro caster now. He just hasn't mastered the whole "not scaring fish away" thing.

The turtles in the lake apparently loved the worms we were using. They would just hang on until they'd pretty much eaten all of the worm off the hook and then let go. Mike "caught" two!

Mike caught three fish that day, Dallin was totally fascinated by them.

Sarah and Mac's Wedding!

Mike's sister, Sarah, got married in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple on August 13th. They had a beautiful wedding and reception.

Dallin's First Fishing Trip!

Every time Dallin cast, he asked, "Did I catch a fish?"

He told me several times, "I love fishing!" or "I love my fishing pole!" and today (we just went yesterday), all he can talk about is going again. Tons of fun! First of many family fishing trips for sure!

Myrtle Beach!!!

This past weekend Mike, Dallin, and I went to Myrtle Beach, SC. Wow! That place is seriously awesome. When you think of the ultimate beach experience, it's Myrtle Beach. Dallin had SO much fun, all he wanted to do was play in the waves, he loved how they could almost knock him over :0) I'm just about 23 weeks prego in these pictures, with braces...
